First of all, NAMASTE (Hello in
hindi)!
Let me Introduce myself :I am Elodie Cartiéri, born on March 21, 1986 in
Yaounde (in Cameroon),and I am nurse at Limoges’s Hospital
(France). Being really sensitive to the humanitarian
problems around the world , I envisage making a career in this field.
I think The movingaround and the travelling have encouraged me on this way! I was Born in Cameroun, then I lived in the United States and finally in
France... All of that was interrupted with periodss in developing countries. I am just
25 years
old, and my head is full of dreams!
My goal, through this association, is to do my best to help indian children to
go to school.
The living and working conditions of these children could be greatly improved
with your support...
In
a few words...
India, stretches out 3 287 590 km²(about 6 times the size France)and it is the
2nd most populous country in the world with more than 1050 000 000 inhabitants
(18 times more than in France).
The Rajasthan is a state located at the North West of India and covers a surface
of 342 239 km² (more than a half of France) with 56 500 000 inhabitants.
Himachal
Pradesh covers 55780km² in the north of India, and has about 6 100 000 inhabitants.
The
association, created in April 2003, is now acting out of 3 sites :
2 in Rajasthan: Katholi and Jaisalmer
and 1 in Himachal Pradesh: Dharamsala.
The
village of Katholi
is located at the centre of this
state, 300km west of
Delhi (approximately 6h by train and 1h by jeep), and has approximately 3500
inhabitants including about 1000 children needing to be educated !
Since the
school opened for the new therm (July 2011) we have 700 pupils, divided into 13 classes (from the nursery school
to class 12th), and 21 teachers.
The town of Jaisalmer, located at the west of the Rajasthan, in the middle of
the desert Thar, numbers approximately 60000 inhabitants. The school is
situated in a very underprivileged area and counts approximately 400 children
divided into 11 classes (from the nursery school to class 8th) and 11 teachers.
The
village tribal of Jindoli,
located in the south of the
Rajasthan, 15km from the city of Udaipur, numbers approximately 1000 inhabitants.
The construction of a school has began in September 2006. And since July 2007
they were about 60 children.
Due to communication problems with our partner, from this year, we decided to
stop our collaboration on this project.
The
city of Dharamsala
is
located in Himashal Pradesh, at an altitude of 1200m, and has about 20 000inhabitants.
The 14th Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyatso has
made it his home since the 1960s.
In
october 2007, our NGO decided to help a school there, by sponsoring
tibetans childrens...
We are also going to open a nursery, for the children of the staff of Chonor
House Hotel, in Dharamsala.
My mother has just come back from 3
years in India, where she contributed a lot to the development of the projects...
 
Get them
out of street... and give them the opportunity to go to school...
